Release
The Beginning of the Purple
Rock Purple — the 23-year-old Helsinki artist — will release his debut, The Beginning of the Purple, on September 9, 2026. It arrives in two forms at once: a full-length album and a film of the same name.
Most artists debut with a single, then an EP, then maybe an album down the line. Rock Purple is doing the opposite. The Beginning of the Purple is built as a single, complete statement — one body of work that exists as both music and image, released together on the same day so neither half is an afterthought.
One work, two forms
The album and the film share a title, a world, and a mood: cinematic, nocturnal, and emotionally widescreen. The film isn't a music video bolted on after the fact; it's the visual half of the same idea. Together they're meant to be experienced as one piece — the reason the project is framed not as a record with extras, but as an album and a film.
